A dual internship at Amman Design Week/Platform 27’s—two curatorial research-based platforms led by a joint team of professionals who educate designers and connect them to innovators by providing key resources (workshops, intensive programs, etc.) while offering their design services to local and international businesses. In my time there, I mainly worked on three different short-term/long-term projects with specific tasks:

(1) Graphics/Typography -  Worked on a digital magazine acting as a manifestation of the work produced by 60 local creatives, inspired by a focus on solitary practice, the small-scale, and slow-paced creative process. I designed the graphics for the title page and the four prompts through which the works were categorized.

(2) Apparel Design -  A personal connection contacted us with the opportunity to present a series of potential designs to be promoted as the brand’s merchandise. The brand in question is a collective that hosts a series of different talks all around the world on topics relating to the MENA region and more. Taking inspiration from some of their previous talks, I designed a series of t-shirts revolving around: (1) the history of animation in the Middle East (2) Arabic proverbs as an art form (3) the story of Rābiʿa al-ʿAdawwiya and (4) the history of coffee in the Middle East.

(3) Logo Design -  Worked on designing a potential logo design for an upcoming festival in Jordan. Being one of the largest worldwide producers of olive oil, the event was going to be centered around the country’s rich history of olive oil production and its implementation into various products (foods, drinks, etc.). The client was very flexible with their guidelines, only certain of the color palette in mind and the tagline to be used. In the end, we went through 4 stages of logo design development, testing out all the different styles, shapes, and type pairings before reaching a conclusion of three different possible approaches to present.
